Waking Dreams Retreat is a two-story home perched on a small hill looking out toward Mt. Spivey and nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the second oldest range in the world. If you are sensitive to the energy vortex that surrounds Asheville, North Carolina, you can feel it simply by venturing onto LBC’s half-acre property. Walk up onto the porch, step inside the front door, and you will find yourself coming home. In the very best sense of the word. The property is quiet and peaceful, and the downtown sections of both Asheville and West Asheville are only minutes away by automobile.
LBC and her husband, Wayne, created this art-filled, six-bedroom, four-bath home with the intention of blessing their guests “from the tops of their heads to the tips of their toes,” as Laurie says. Since then guests have arrived at Waking Dreams Retreat as seekers and departed as finders.
LBC’s primary intention for the Retreat is to provide a safe, healing space for body, soul and spirit. Both guided and non-guided retreat experiences are available.
The top floor at Waking Dreams Retreat is dedicated to LBC’s work and includes an office, meeting space, therapy room and guest space with private bath and kitchenette. The bottom floor at Waking Dreams Retreat includes larger meeting space, main kitchen, laundry and three longer-term guest spaces for women. In deference to guests with environmental sensitivities, no chemicals are used in cleaning, scents are discouraged, and high-speed internet is wired. There is no television reception.
